Step by Step He Continues to Lead……

A lot has been accomplished since my last writing on October 10th.  We had just hired Jim Anderson to paint the entire inside of the house and I mentioned I was a little nervous as I entered and paint was being sprayed everywhere. The key to anxiety is prayer so I prayed and laid it down and trusted God with the results. It is amazing the transformation that has taken place in that very old farmhouse that God has chosen to help women in need. Jim and his team have done a super job!

Almost everyday I stop in to see their progress and day by day the inside of the house is becoming more and more beautiful, just like the women who will enter in. Both will be a “planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor” (Isaiah 61:3b) Jim and his team have a small amount of touch-up work to do and it will be complete. We are very satisfied with their work.  So satisfied that when Jim offered to sand and refinish the wooden floors on most of the house, we quickly agreed to allow him the honor believing that he is a God’s man for the job!!

We hope to have the house completely restored by November 14th. It has taken many hours of labor and donations from many people to make this work and God has supplied each and every need through his people.  We can’t praise Him enough for His faithfulness and His provision. JEHOVAH JIRAH stands true to His name. To Him Be The Glory!!

We have been working very hard to raise the needed funds to run this ministry next year.  We had a promotional/sales stand at the New Garden Farm Market, a Craft Sale and a Benefit Concert (both the same weekend).  We also have been successfully selling raffle tickets for a beautiful quilt that was donated. We had a huge donation of candy bars given to the ministry that have been sold at various work places as well. Financial Donations have come in and God continues to show himself faithful. WE praise Him for every dollar He provides knowing that it will be enough.

Our next Fund Raiser is planned for November 14th. Lord willing, we will be hosting a Benefit Pancake Breakfast at the Oaks House.  Dawn Lawrie Harnish is hosting it. Dawn is the daughter of Ed Lawrie who sold the property to Media Church and was raised in the Oaks House. She is very excited about the work God is doing there and offered to host a benefit pancake breakfast with her very own product from her mill at Burnt Cabins, Pa. This will be a full buffet breakfast that you won’t want to miss!! You will also get to see the interior of the Oaks House!! Donations will be accepted to help meet the 2016 Budget. This is a private party by invitation only. If you would like a personal invite, please contact me at robinmartin3@hotmail.com.

When our  budget of $50,000 is met we will open the doors to the first Oaks house, Lord willing, January 1, 2016.  We are making progress but we are not there yet. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to step out in faith day by day knowing God will provide all of our needs, financial and physical, according to His riches in glory.
