Today we celebrate Thanksgiving! The Oaks Ministry has much to be thankful for! GOD IS GOOD and continues to amaze us with His provisions!!!
Much has been accomplished the past month at the Oaks house. The painting is finished! All the flooring in the downstairs is finished, except for the “war room”. (did you know the Oaks House has a war room?) The wall to wall carpeting upstairs is also finished! All the ceiling fans and new light fixtures have been installed! The chimney has a new liner and the heat is on! The washer and dryer have been installed. The inside of the house is looking more and more beautiful each day as God supplies the funding and the workers to finish the work. I am reminded of the verse that says “He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it” (Philippians 1:6) For this we are THANKFUL!
On November 14th we hosted a Benefit Pancake Breakfast in house with Dawn Harnish owner of Burnt Cabin Grist Mill & Campgrounds(www.historicmillandcamping.com) Dawn supplied and cooked a wonderful breakfast and we served approximately 100 guests and raised over $4,800 to go toward our 2016 Budget. In addition we have received generous donations from people, just like you, and we are getting closer to our goal of $50,000 to pay the expenses of maintaining a ministry like this for a year. Together we can do this as each one does its part. For this we are THANKFUL!!
To think that the plan of an Oaks House to help women in need was on God’s mind a long time ago. Scripture tells us that even before we were born, God had every day planned before one day began. (Psalm 139:16) God gave me a vision, to help women need, in June of 2012. It has been exciting to be part of His special plan. To watch His plans as they unfold through myself and others to fulfill His holy purposes. We have walked through this journey together and together we will make a difference. For you we are THANKFUL!!
We are trusting in God to supply us with a Residential House Manager. A spiritually mature Christian, single and no responsibility for children, are three of the special qualifications. God knows her by name and is working in her heart right now to reveal His special plans for her. The house is all most ready. We will be moving furniture back in on Tuesday of this week and then we will begin to turn the house into a home. As we are doing that we will be decorating the Oaks House for Christmas. We are going all out! We are planning a Fund Raiser called “Christmas at the Oaks” a Bargain Bazaar on December 11th & 12th.Come and enjoy…live music, nativity, carolers, food, and shopping! For this we are THANKFUL!!
So as you can see what have alot to be thankful for. Most importantly, we are thankful for a loving heavenly Father who gave His one and only Son Jesus Christ to the world so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) He came to give us new life to set us free from the bondage of sin. He set me free and he can set you free too. If you haven’t already please consider receiving Jesus as your Savior today. For this you too will be forever THANKFUL!!!!
He gave His life, what more could He give….Oh how He loves you, Oh how He loves me….Oh how He loves you and me…..SO THANKFUL for HIS LOVE!!!!!
