The past three days have been very tiring and extremely emotional. Planning our “first” major fund raiser for the year on a weekend that was potentially going to be very wet, raised a flag of “what shall we do?” We prayed and we moved forward…and I’m glad we did! It was another opportunity to see God at work through this ministry regardless of our circumstances.
We raised over $3,000 in spite of the weather. God was saying, “don’t fret, I’ve got this”. I was reminded again of God’s faithfulness in providing for us as I read the words recorded by Sarah Young in Jesus Calling for May 14th.
“I am a Mighty God. Nothing is too difficult for Me. I have chosen to use weak ones like you to accomplish My purposes. Your weakness is designed to open you up to My Power. Therefore, do not fear your limitations or measure the day’s demands against your strength. What I require of you is to stay connected to Me, living in trusting dependence on My limitless resources.”
I am reminded of the verse recorded in Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with God”. I am reminded that God says “He will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory”. (Philippians 4:19)
I am thankful for the many donations that flooded in from generous people who care about the women that we reach out too. I’m thankful for all of those that showed up to help in any way. This year the ministry was offered the opportunity to have everything left to be auctioned off in box lots to help our cause. The items will be auctioned off on May 19th. You can check them out on this website. (www.mcgrellisauction.com) Pray that God blesses this avenue to supply the much needed funds to keep this ministry financially alive.
As the Oaks team continues to reach out to women in need, please keep us in your prayers. That the women will be drawn to Christ not only through the testimony of our lips but also be drawn to a new way of living through the testimony of our lives. That they too will come to know Jehovah Jireh, the LORD who provides in a deeply personal way.
A personal need we have in the Oaks house is the need for a reliable, inexpensive vehicle for one of our ladies. She is working 3 jobs and providing transportation is becoming difficult. If you are able to help with this in any way, please contact Robin at 484-368-7268. This lady is on the right path and just needs a little help from God’s special people! I am trusting that He will provide just the right vehicle for her because after all He is “Jehovah Jireh”……
His Servant,
Robin Martin, President of the Oaks Ministry
