Recently I went into a few stores and much to my surprise there were Christmas decorations on display. Its not even Halloween yet and Christmas is being promoted and for the most part, not the real reason for the season, the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. It appears as if Thanksgiving is just being passed over.
What is it that you are thankful for? I am thankful for many things, but to name a few, I am thankful for God, for my family, for this ministry and yes for you. I am thankful for all of you who came out to our “Harvest of Blessings Brunch” on October 4th. I am also thankful for Mt. Vernon Christian Church who shared their beautiful banquet room for us to host all of you. The place was packed to the point where next year we will need to find a bigger facility in which to hold this gathering. We are thankful for your love, your support your prayers and your presence when needed. Its exciting for the Board of Directors to meet the people He sends to help us with our mission. Everyone of you are very important to us, so again we say Thank You!!
Its amazing what God does when we come together in unity as one Body, the Body of Christ. Our net profit was around $8,000 when all expenses were paid. We praise God for his provision. As I’ve said before “if its His will, its His bill” and he has never disappointed us. We have been able to maintain two homes for women in need and pay all the expenses with running and managing a non-profit, not once worrying about how to pay our bills. God guides and God provides. To Him be the Glory both now and forevermore!!
God has provided so well that now we are looking for an Oaks 3, either another single family dwelling or a larger building in which we could house more than 4 women. Ideally we would like to purchase a building but we are open to whatever God has for us. We are pursuing all leads. We want to be in His will as we move forward in faith. When we pray “not my will but yours be done” we can have perfect peace knowing that His timing is perfect regardless of the outcomes of the paths we pursue. Please pray for wisdom, discernment as we move forward. He’s got just the right place and will provide at just the right time…
We welcome to our Ministry Team an Oaks 1 Financial Advisor, Lynda Schultz. We have been praying for many months for just the right person, and we believe that Lynda is Gods chosen. Lynda will be meeting on a weekly basis with our residents at Oaks 1, giving solid financial advise, creating budgets and holding our residents accountable for their spending habits. We do what we can do and trust God to do what only He can do, for this ministry truly is His.
We are still looking for a lady who would be interested in helping our Sewing Instructor with her weekly classes in house. We would like to find someone who would not only assist her weekly but can manage the classes when our instructor is away. If you know how to use a sewing machine, and enjoy helping others, please contact us. We are eager to meet you.
Our next newsletter will be mailed out around Thanksgiving. If you are not on our mailing list and would like to be added, please contact us at info@oxfordoaksministry.com with your mailing address. We will be happy to add you to our list.
Continually “Giving Thanks” for all of you. Together we can have a greater impact in fulfilling our mission to “provide hope, healing and restoration in a Christ-centered residential environment for women in need”.
