It is hard to believe it’s the year 2020 but I admit I love the sound of it. 2020, A New Year a New Beginning, a Fresh Start, with Fresh Vision! This verse comes to our mind, “without vision the people perish”. We are always thinking of ways to improve the program we have for women in need. We often say “God leads and we follow”. We are learning that to pray “thy will be done” in any situation truly gives us peace. For if we mean those words and we trust God in every situation no matter the outcome, we can have that “peace that surpasses all understanding” that is described in His word.
As many of you know we are looking for an Oaks 3, a third home to help women who are in need of a fresh start. A safe place to live while working toward financial stability and independence. We have followed a few leads but so far God has shut the door to them but we have had some really good conversations with people we otherwise would not have had. Maybe that was the purpose of those leads? We continue to look for the place God has chosen for us. Ideally we would love to be able to “purchase” a building in which to house women but are open to renting as we do now. So if you hear of something you think might work for us, please contact us at 484-368-7268.
On January 29th, we celebrated with another graduate. We rejoice with Susan who has come a long way while being in our program the past year. We know that God has great things in store for her as she moves forward in life following Him. We hope that the seeds that were planted in her life while in our program, will continue to grow and bear much fruit for Him. We also pray that she will always know she a friend in The Oaks Ministry that she can turn to for encouragement when needed.
On another note, The Oaks Ministry is looking for someone to work with us as an Event Coordinator and someone to help as a Oaks Ministry Photographer. Job descriptions are available for both of these volunteer positions. If you enjoy planning Events to raise funds and awareness of an organization such as ours, please visit our website at http://www.oxfordoaksministry.com. Click on the Volunteer Page, fill out an application and contact our Volunteer Coordinators, John and Judy Federoff at 610-283-6920. They will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
We also want to thank all of you who responded to our year-end letter with a financial gift to our ministry. Without faithful financial supporters like you we could not do what we do. As we continue to grow so does our budget. We trust in God to supply our needs knowing that He does that through generous folks like you. So again we say “THANK YOU” and may God Bless you as you have blessed us!
