Thank you for your prayers and support and interest in The Oaks Ministry. It has been a very busy season for our Ministry. Our Program Manager, Dawn and I have been busy planning and implementing new policies and procedures, to make us more efficient benefiting those we serve. We have also been meeting with groups and organizations to create awareness of our organization for referrals and potential funding. As our program expands, so will our expenses. We thank all of you who faithfully financially support us. Without you we could not do what we do. We trust as we make our needs known, God will supply. Thats just who HE IS!
We are planning a more structured daily program for our residents with in-house coverage 24/7. This will include discipleship training classes, and other workshops, along with volunteering in our community, to keep the women busy while looking for employment. This will enable them to connect more with other Christian’s during the day while our house managers are working.
The Oaks Ministry was blessed by attending a Sandy Cove Womens weekend retreat in May. All of us came back encouraged and refreshed. Our residents loved having this opportunity to be in a beautiful location with great food and no responsibility except to be present at the sessions. We thank all of you who donated funds to make this possible and we thank Sandy Cove for awarding all of our residents’ scholarships for the weekend making it more affordable for The Oaks Ministry.
Dawn and I enjoyed hosting our 1st Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on April 27th. We had over 40 volunteers present that are already involved or wanting to get involved in the ministry. Some of our volunteers hadn’t been with us for a while due to Covid concerns. It was so exciting to have many of the special people God has placed in our lives together in the same room, encouraging one another in the faith and mission.
The Oaks Ministry is sad to announce that Brenda Moore, our Oaks 2 House Manager is resigning from her position effective June 30th, therefore we are in need of a new Live-in House Manager for our Oaks 2 residence. For the past 4+ years, Brenda has been a huge blessing to me personally and to the Oaks Ministry. Her experience in social services has been a great asset to us and we are sorry to see her leave but understand her desire for something different in this season of life. We know that wherever Brenda goes she will be a LIGHTHOUSE for Christ, it’s just who she is, and we are so thankful to God for her service.
If you know of anyone that may be interested in this position, please have them contact Robin at 484-368-7268. This live-in position offers free room and board. Salary is negotiable depending on time availability in house.
We are praying for God’s chosen woman to make herself known and ask you to pray specifically for this need. We know that God will provide in His timing and His timing is always perfect! Thats just who HE IS, and we are loved by HIM because of who we are!
In God We Trust…
Robin Martin, President
